The planet Saturn (shani) is not as dangerous as it is perceived to be. Common people think that ‘shani ki sade saati’ is the most dreaded phenomenon in one’s life. But that’s not true. Lucky people face ‘shani ki sade saati’ three times in their life, but the unlucky ones may encounter this malaise only once in lifetime.

Since Saturn takes 30 years to make one round in the solar system, it occurs thrice in the birth chart of the lucky people who may live to 80-90 years or more. In the case of unlucky people, shani ki sade saati occurs once in life-time, meaning thereby that they will have a short life-span of about 30 to 50 years. Death hovers over such unlucky people till they reach the age of 29. If they cross the 30 mark, they may survive upto 45 or 50 years of age. On the very first look at your horoscope, an expert astrologer can predict your life-span.

Shani is a chronicler of our activities and behaviour. When we face shani ki sade saati, it punishes us for our bad deeds. If we do our karmas in an honest manner with a high moral standard without cheating any body and helping the needy, the shani can do no harm to us.

If shani is malefic (kharab) in your horoscope right from birth, then you may not have better time till 50 years of age, but after that you may have a nice time. The shani would be malefic when it is the lord of 6th, 8th and 12th house of one’s birth chart. In case of benefic shani, it is the lord of 3rd, 4th, 10th or the 11th house. In that case shani would give you definite results but in delayed manner, say from the age of 45.

Role of Shani: It controls the veins in our body, cholesterol level and blockages in the veins that may cause heart diseases. This planet also regulates our body’s excretory system, body hair and nails. Facial wrinkles on our face in the old age are also caused by shani.

If the shani is malefic, a person has negative feelings. He or she is always unnecessarily worried about petty things. Malefic shani is also aggravates the position of alcoholics and drug addicts.

If the shani is benefic (achcha), its best position is in the 11th house. The person enjoys name, fame and wealth in the society. If the shani is exalted (uchch ka), the person is quite rich but behaves in a balanced manner. If shani is in the 5th house, the person may not have son. Even if he has few sons, he would be unhappy with them.

Delayed marriages: If shani is malefic in 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th house in your birth chart, it may delay your marriage till 30s. If the shani is in the 7th house, the person will have an inter-caste or inter-religious love marriage, thus creating social tension in both the families and the society. If the planet Venus is looking at Saturn in the horoscope, the person keeps on waiting to wed his beloved but the marriage never takes place.

In our planet system if shani is retrograde (vakri), the sinners flourish and do atrocities on the innocent ones. Vakri shani is responsible for delayed justice for the litigants. If shani is margi (running ahead), then we will have natural calamities like earthquakes, Tsunami, hurricanes, etc. When earthquake hit China recently, the shani was margi. In such situations, your pending projects will get implemented and you will definitely get the justice, though it may be delayed.
